To redirect surplus food from local cafés, bakeries and supermarkets to people in need across Central London, with dignity and without waste.
Dignity. Everyone we serve is a neighbour, and we treat them as one. Good food, offered kindly, with no questions or judgment.
Community. We work alongside local cafés, volunteers and other organisations rather than in place of them.
Safety. We take food safety seriously. We only share food we would be happy to eat ourselves.
Transparency. We are open about what we do, what we rescue and how we work.
CHAIN estimates that 12,938 people were seen sleeping rough in the capital between April 2025 and March 2026. Families are increasingly reliant on food bank support.
Behind every number is a person or family who often don't know where their next meal is coming from.
According to ReLondon, 1,456,000 tonnes of food is lost or wasted in London each year, just thrown away by bakeries, cafes and supermarkets. London's hospitality sector generates around 300,000 tonnes of food waste a year (ReLondon), and across the UK about three-quarters of hospitality food waste could have been eaten (WRAP).
Wasted food costs businesses money and adds to the cost of waste disposal and to carbon emissions. Rescuing it helps with all of these at once.
